The PTA Sustainability Committee at Miller Elementary is working toward a couple of murals - to be painted early next school year - with the theme, Kindness to Earth. With the help of principal, Judy Hession, and all the Miller teachers, the Mural Team has collected and reviewed artwork submissions from students Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.
The $5,000 grant was awarded through ChangeX and Nickelodeon, to allow the school to work with Muralism, a nonprofit organization dedicated to beautifying Los Angeles and surrounding areas, while providing work experience to adults with disabilities.
Artwork submissions will now be given to Muralism, whose chosen artist will design two murals for Miller.
